Founded 1978, The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles (GFBLA) is the second oldest LGBTQ+ community wind ensemble in the world. GFBLA provides public concerts throughout Southern California, offering a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical to contemporary.  

Our Mission

To promote acceptance and celebrate diversity by bringing together musicians from across Southern California for performance and educational opportunities that embrace equality, inclusion, and the love of music.

Last Sunday the @gfbla Jazz Band got to perform at the @thehuntingtonlibrary’s beautiful Rothenberg Hall for an afternoon of tunes for fans, both new and old.  We continue to be inspired and proud of this group’s musicianship and commitment to keeping its legacy alive. It’s official!  Marching and Pep Band Season is upon us and @gfbla needs you for the upcoming Pride festivities!  Are you a new or seasoned marcher and would like to be a part of the fun?!
