The Freedom Band Foundation is incorporated as an educational and charitable organization within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of 
the Internal Revenue Code to support the activities of the performing organizations, the Gay Freedom band of Los Angeles, and to provide a structure to expand support of the performing arts in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities of Southern California.

Donations to the Foundation are fully tax deductible as defined by law.

Whether you are a successful professional or a beginning instrumentalist, GFBLA welcomes you to our group. We are supportive and upbeat, but we also take our music seriously. So, be prepared to work hard!

Membership dues are $60 annually, though GFBLA is happy to find scholarships for members who may be facing financial hardship. New members may survey the band for 30 days prior to paying dues.

Rehearsal Information

Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.  Contact us ahead of time at bandmanager@gfbla.org to let us know that you’ll be coming so that we can prepare your welcome packet and music.  All you need to do is bring your instrument and a pencil to take notes.  Chairs and music stands are provided.
