Who We Are

The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles (GFBLA) is the second oldest LGBTQ+ community wind symphony in the world.  

GFBLA provides free public concerts throughout Southern California, offering a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical to contemporary.

Our Mission

The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles promotes acceptance and celebrates diversity by bringing together musicians from across Southern California for performance and educational opportunities that embrace equality, inclusion, and the love of music.

Our Vision

Every person has the opportunity to contribute and express themselves musically while shaping the future of GFBLA by preserving our heritage, embracing positive social change, and sharing our talents, artistic excellence, and love of music with others.

The Freedom Band Foundation is incorporated as an educational and charitable organization within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of 
the Internal Revenue Code to support the activities of the performing organizations, the Gay Freedom band of Los Angeles, and to provide a structure to expand support of the performing arts in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities of Southern California.

Donations to the Foundation are fully tax deductible as defined by law.
