Whether you’re just rusty or you’ve always wanted to learn jazz, we have the place for you!
The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles will host three upcoming jazz classes, open to all instruments and levels, and members and non-members alike! Led by our very own Jodi Gladstone, Interim Director of Jazz Band, these classes will be an opportunity to learn jazz fundamentals, performance practice, and standard repertoire. Basically, we’ll teach ya “how to swing”!
Our Leader: Jodi Gladstone has an MME from North Texas State University and a BME from Ohio State. She has recently retired after teaching music for 37 years for the Los Angeles and Long Beach public school districts. She is a freelance musician playing music all over Los Angeles as well as being the director of The Great American Swing Band. Jodi has played venues such as the Playboy Jazz Festival-Hollywood Bowl, Flamingo Hilton- Las Vegas, House of Blues and other venues in Los Angeles. She is a proud member of GFBLA.
